Big Oak Wolf Sanctuary is currently home to 30 100% wolves and 18 low, mid & high-content wolf hybrids. We’ve rescued wolves from North Carolina, Texas, Ohio, Idaho and all across Florida. Some came from facilities that could no longer care for them and others were seized by either The USDA or The Fish & Game Commissions in the respective state and turned over to us. These 48 wolves & wolf hybrids are divided among 13 separate packs that range from 2 to 7 wolves per pack. Each pack has an established “natural” social structure involving an alpha male and an alpha female.


All 13 enclosures range from 7500-1000 sq. ft. each and include:

• a 700 gallon pool for swimming and cooling,
• a10’ tall 12’x12’ platform (above the pool), and
• a 16’ x 8’ underground den to escape the heat.
