Favorite aspect of the sanctuary: From my first day here, I was impressed by the underground dens for the wolves and large platforms that provide them with slanted terrain and a view of the sanctuary. They have space to play, rest, and so much room underground when they need to beat the heat of summer afternoons. The construction that went into each enclosure is incredible.

Favorite wolf and why: It's absolutely impossible to pick a favorite, because they each have such unique personalities you can't help but love! But I look forward to visiting with Spirit every time. She's playful, mischievous, always smiling and loving, and an all-around beautiful animal.

Your role here: Making sure the wolves get all the attention they could want, helping with general maintenance and seeing to it that the animals are comfortable and happy.

What being part of this unique mission means to you: I’ve always had a fascination and love for wolves, and being able to contribute even a little to their well-being means a lot to me. I’m a firm believer in the sanctuary’s mission, and at the same time have grown very attached to these wolves. It’s a pleasure to volunteer here and be a part of it all.
